    There were 118 participants trying to win the Miss World crown on Saturday in Sanya, China. At the end of the evening, it was finally Miss India, Manushi Chhillar, who was crowned. Manushi Chhillar, won the Miss World contest ahead of Stephanie Hill, Miss England, and Andrea Meza, Miss Mexico. The victory comes 17 years after Priyanka Chopra won the Miss World crown in 2000. Ms. Manushi was crowned by 2016 Miss World winner, Miss Puerto Rico's Stephanie Del Valle. This also marks India's sixth Miss World title win. Reita Faria was the first Indian woman to win the title in 1966. After Ms. Faria, Aishwariya Rai Bachchan won the Miss World title in 1994. After Mrs Aishwariya Rai Bachchan, Diana Haydan was crowned Miss World in 1997, followed by Yukta Mookhey in 1999 and Priyanka Chopra in 2000. Ms. Manushi is from Haryana and is 20 years old.
    Manushi Chhillar studied medicine and wants to become a cardiac surgeon.
    Ms. Manushi plans to open charitable hospitals in rural areas.
    She is also an advocate for menstrual hygiene.
    Ms. Manushi studied at the St. Thomas School in New Delhi and the Bhagat Phool Singh State Medical College for Women in Sonepat, Haryana.
    Manushi Chhillar is a trained classical singer.
    She also loves outdoor sports and is passionate about scuba diving, snorkeling and bungee jumping.
    The father of Ms. Manushi, Dr. Mitra Basu Chhillar, is a researcher in the Defense Research and Development organization.
    The mother of Ms. Manushi, Dr. Neelam Chhillar is Associate Professor and Head of Department of Neurochemistry at the Institute of Human Behavior and Allied Sciences.
    Her personal mottos, as mentioned on the Miss World website, are: "When you stop dreaming, you stop living" and "Courage to pursue your dreams and the ability to believe in yourself makes life worth living".
    After she reached the top five, Ms. Manushi Chhillar was asked during the Q & A session which profession she considered to be the highest salary and why earned. In her reply, she said that her mother was the greatest inspiration in her life and that mothers deserved the highest respect.
